Meet Mr. Nunley – Empowering Passions at Roosevelt Middle School
Nick Nunley teaches business classes at Roosevelt Middle School and has been part of our 5J community for six years. His path to education wasn’t traditional—before becoming a teacher, Mr. Nunley worked in auto parts and finance. However, teaching was always woven into his work through training, tutoring, and leading others.

While working part-time at Cabela’s, Mr. Nunley was invited to coach wrestling at the middle school. That experience, combined with seeing the impact of education on his own children and others, inspired him to pursue his teaching license. He began substituting in classrooms and quickly realized how much he loved teaching.

Mr. Nunley was first hired at the middle school as a math teacher and transitioned into the business program, where he’s been teaching for the past four years. In addition to his classroom role, he coaches wrestling and football and serves as the FBLA sponsor.

In this video, Mr. Nunley shares more about his passion areas, what he values about teaching middle school, and how he empowers students to follow their own passions.
