Advanced Placement (AP)

Roosevelt High School is committed to providing rigorous academic experiences that prepare students for success in college and beyond. In addition to a strong offering of concurrent enrollment courses, RHS proudly offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses through the College Board, allowing students to engage in college-level coursework while still in high school.

AP courses challenge students to think critically, deepen their understanding of content, and develop strong academic habits. Based on student interest, Roosevelt currently offers the following AP courses:

  • AP 2D Art & Design (A/B)
  • AP 3D Art & Design (A/B)
  • AP Drawing (A/B)
  • AP Music Theory (A/B)
  • AP U.S. History (A/B)
  • AP U.S. Government & Politics
These courses offer students the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced standing at many colleges and universities.

AP (Advanced Placement) classes are college-level courses offered in high school that allow students to explore subjects in greater depth and develop critical thinking and academic skills. Taught by high school teachers using a curriculum approved by the College Board, AP classes prepare students for AP Exams, which may lead to college credit or advanced placement at many colleges and universities. Taking AP courses shows a commitment to academic rigor and can strengthen college applications. They also help students build confidence and readiness for college-level expectations.
