Assessment

Weld RE-5J uses district and state assessment measures to inform instruction, identify areas for improvement, and measure progress toward learning outcomes. An outline of the Weld RE-5J Assessments as well as Assessment Calendar can be found in the Supporting Documents below.

Each year schools across the state of Colorado are required to administer the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS).  CMAS is an assessment designed to measure progress toward the Colorado Academic Standards.  CMAS includes English Language Arts and Math in grades 3-8 and Science in grades 5, 8 and 11.  Students in grades 9-11 take the CollegeBoard PSAT/SAT suite of assessments. The Role Of State Assessments In Increasing Academic Achievement

To opt out of state testing, this form must be filled out by the parent/guardian and returned to the school. The request for exemption must be submitted prior to the first testing session in the current school year. This form is only valid for the academic year in which it is completed.
