Multilingual Learners

Weld County School District RE5J is committed to providing our multilingual learners with a comprehensive K-12 education.   The program is designed to ensure meaningful participation in grade-level curriculum and focus on the Colorado English Language Proficiency (CELP) Standards. Service delivery for English Language Learners will be based on language assessment results and individual student needs.  

The education of our Multilingual Learners is the responsibility of all District RE-5J staff.  To ensure the progress of our Multilingual learners, we will utilize researched classroom English Language Development strategies, course content modifications and accommodations, staff collaboration and communication, parent involvement, translators, communication to parents in the home language, on-going professional development of our staff, and administrative program support.
