What are some of the best ways that residents can support the Cottage?

Projects like The Cottage Collective rely on the generosity of our community. Residents are welcome to donate new or gently used clothing (please, no rips or stains), new and unopened hygiene items, and household essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies. We also accept new, unexpired food items, and we are happy to stock our two refrigerators and two freezers with perishable donations.

Monetary donations are always appreciated, as they allow us to purchase items in bulk for students, provide size-specific clothing, and ensure that students can receive a brand-new outfit, properly fitting shoes, and new socks and underwear. Gift cards are another meaningful way to help, especially for families who struggle to afford gas and groceries.

We welcome partnerships with local businesses and companies that wish to keep donations within the community or are interested in offering bulk items at a discounted rate. If there are other ways you’d like to support The Cottage, we would be happy to meet and discuss those opportunities.

One important request: if you are already supporting another local organization, such as a food pantry in town, please do not divert your resources to The Cottage. Our goal is to be a lasting, complementary resource, working alongside existing organizations rather than replacing them.
