2025-2026 Student Progress Data Highlights

In Weld RE-5J, students have opportunities daily to show off their learning through activities, quick checks, projects, and presentations. We also monitor their progress through various standardized assessments to see how students are growing compared to their past performance, their school, other schools, the state, and even the nation. For more information about these assessments visit Weld RE-5J Assessments.

Weld RE-5J Assessment

Our students are doing well and continuing to grow. Across grades K–11, students are performing at or above national averages in both math and reading. Many grade levels are exceeding typical growth, meaning students are learning more than expected compared to peers nationwide. This is a strong indicator that instruction and student effort are making a meaningful impact.

K–11 NWEA Data Highlights - Strong Growth and Achievement

Nearly 1 out of every 2 students (49%) showed both high growth and high achievement. Many of our students are not only doing well, but also continuing to make strong progress year to year.

Math Highlights: Overall growth - 63rd percentile, overall achievement - 61st percentile

  • 41.6% of grade levels showed higher-than-typical growth compared to students nationwide

  • Half of grade levels scored above the 63rd percentile in achievement

Students are learning more than typical students nationwide in math, and most are performing above average overall.

5J Schools Meeting Expectations

In early September, CDE released preliminary District and School Performance Frameworks.  In these frameworks, overall ratings assigned to districts and schools are based on achievement and growth on state assessments, along with such postsecondary measures as graduation rates, drop-out rates, college entrance exams and college matriculation rates. All Weld RE-5J schools received a preliminary Performance rating — the highest possible in the model.  As a school district, the Weld RE-5J District Performance Framework overall rating was Accredited.

Excellence In and Beyond the Classroom

  • These results show the importance of students being in school and feeling a sense of belonging.  Across our schools, chronic absenteeism decreased from prior years.
  • Our schools continue to see an increase in positive student perception rates on the Bullying Prevention and Education Grant survey for the percentage of students that say they have a teacher, staff member, or principal who cares about them.
  • Our staff continue to collaborate and calibrate on what it means for student success - ensuring high expectations, continuous access to grade level material, clarity on what students must need to know and be able to do, and adjust instruction based on student strengths and needs.
  • Weld RE-5J is committed to ensuring all students have quality experiences and continuing to see an increase in achievement, growth, and postsecondary readiness.
