Thanks from 5J

Our students thrive because of the many dedicated adults who show up for them every single day.

We want to pause and say Thank You from 5J to some of the incredible people who make our schools places where students can learn, feel safe, and truly belong. We’re grateful for our paraprofessionals, who partner side-by-side with teachers to support student success; our librarians, who open doors to imagination and inspire a lifelong love of reading; and our assistant principals, whose leadership, care, and commitment help our schools run strong and supportive for everyone.

Your impact is felt in countless ways—and we appreciate you more than words can say.

OuR Graduate Spotlight: RESPONSIBLE

In 5J, responsibility shines in every classroom, hallway, and community space. We’re celebrating the many ways our students and staff bring the OuR Graduate characteristic of being RESPONSIBLE to life—through their actions, leadership, and commitment to learning and growth.

5J Faces of Impact - Collaboration

5J Faces of Impact
Each month, we highlight staff who help shape the future — one student, one moment, one connection at a time.

What Collaboration Means in Weld RE‑5J — and Why It Matters
In Weld RE‑5J, collaboration is more than a meeting on a calendar—it’s a commitment to ensuring every student learns at high levels. When staff collaborate, students benefit from the combined expertise, creativity, and care of an entire team—not just one classroom teacher. This month in 5J Faces of Impact, we highlight how staff across Weld RE‑5J come together to support students, elevate learning, and live out our commitment to continuous improvement.

Five Years of Building Futures Together

Spaces that Inspire. Learning that Lasts.

For the past five years, Weld RE-5J has worked hand-in-hand with our community to create environments where every learner—and every educator—feels a deep sense of belonging. With the support of the community and voters, the passing of the 2020 Bond allowed multiple capital projects and maintenance improvements to launch. These enhancements are not just about buildings; they are about opportunities for growth, passion, and preparing for the future. Together, we have ensured that our schools are safe, accessible, welcoming, and designed for collaboration and innovation. Every improvement reflects our shared commitment: to extend the life of our facilities, reduce costly repairs, and provide spaces that are developmentally appropriate, aesthetically pleasing, and ready for tomorrow. We are proud to celebrate that journey—and the community that made it possible.

Stacking Up Skills for the Future

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders from Elwell Elementary, Milliken Intermediate, and Pioneer Ridge came together for the 21st Annual Speed Stacking Competition—and WOW did they bring the energy!

Yes, it was a competition… but the real victories were in the perseverance, goal setting, teamwork, and encouragement we saw at every single table. These are the exact skills we want for OuR Graduates, and our students showed them in record‑breaking amounts.

Bonus: our 5th graders got an early chance to build relationships with the classmates they’ll join next year at Roosevelt Middle School. New friendships = already stacking success for the future! And while the cups were flying fast, the connections were built even faster.

There are so many opportunities for a student to complete advanced placement courses, dual enrollment courses, or career education. Our kids will be ready for life after high school, whether that’s at a university, community college, or in the workforce. No one is overlooked or left behind at Roosevelt.
